Help Please! Delaying Oath ceremony

Dear Sir,

I have successfully completed the citizenship interview now. However, for taking the oath, I want to wait till my husband also completes her interview. He is eligible to apply for citizenship only in April 08.

Can I postpone my oath for 12 months by which time he would have finished her interview ? What is the maximum time I can postpone my oath ceremony ?

Why in the world would you want to delay your oath ceremony by 12 months?

Why did you then apply for your USC in the first place, you could've waited till your spouse was eligible and then both could've applied at the same time.

Usually they allow you to delay the oath ceremony by some time, of course when the person is either sick or out of the country.

Honestly, even I'm not sure about the consequences about such a long delay.

They may have to do a background check again and possibly a name check too. Which then in turn will delay the whole thing by any length of time.

I would strongly suggest you get your USC now and your spouse can get it when the time comes.
