  • N400 Good Moral dilemma

I've searched this forum extensively and I couldn't find a similar situation to answer my question. In 2000 I was cited for 'Leaving the scene of an accident' (in a parking lot -minor damage to bumper). I was not arrested but had to go to court. Plead guilty and paid $150 in fines including court costs. The case has since been closed. I plan to get a court certified letter listing the proceedings for my records.

    My question:
Since this is traffic related, is this scenario exempt from being reported on the application? I plan to present this incident (with the court certified letter) at the interview regardless. Should I include the court letter as additional documentation in my application?

My record has been clean ever since. Also, there were no issues during the GC process. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Not a problem

You were not arrested or charged, so you're clean.

It was a minor accident and not even a DUI, so you're fine. Just that you had to go to court does not make it any more serious.

You need not submit any such documentation or letter with the application, but keep the original with you for the interview, just in case.

    Good luck and take care.

      Thanks

Thanks knowledgeable. Should I still disclose this incident on the application?

Not much of a harm either way

If you indicate this information, then you need to attach documents showing that the case has been closed.
