N 400 - Service Center delimma

I filed my N400 application in Jan 2007 to Nebraska center (as it was in the application instructions). Still waiting for my interview letter.

My online status shows that my application is in Vermont center - which is processing currently May 19 2007 applications.

I live in Northern VA and local field office is Washington DC - which is processing Dec 28th 2006 applications.

Which office should i consider and either register a service request or not with INS.

I am confused on which center processing time should i follow. Any insights are appreciated.

WASH DC 'Service' Cntr

This whole thing is so outrageous I cannot even imagine anymore how long it will take. The VT service cntr dates seem to be useless since according to the phone rep. I spoke to the local offices actually handle the cases. My Process Date is March 8, 2007 and I was fingerprinted in April of 2007. The Washington office process times have moved by 7 days from 12-22-07 to 12-29-07 in the past 3 plus months. By far the slowest in the country. I contated my Congressman's office and both VA senator offices. Contact your Congressman. I got a reply from Frank Wolf saying he contacted the DC office to ask what is going on. Contact them by regular mail since they get swamped by emails it seems.

Appointment

Setting up an appointment at their Wash office (ICE) seems like a waste of time. All you will hear is that they are 'busy.'

1 year wait time

In case it makes you feel better, I am in the same boat as you are. I applied to VSC during second week of Jan 07 and fingerprinted on 2/8/07. Still no response from Washington Field office.
