  • Leaving the US for trips 6 months or 1 year

According to http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments/M-480.pdf "During the last five years (or the last three years if I qualify under Attachment A), I have not taken a trip out of the United States that lasted one year or more."

But in https://www.immihelp.com/us-naturalization-eligibility/ there are 6 months specified. What's right?

Also, is it still possible to submit N-400 90 days before 5 years?

Both are right. They are referenced in different context.

If I understand right, I can submit if I did not leave US for 1 year, but they can ask me to prove that I didn't work abroad if I found there more then 6 months. Right?
