  • Need Advice

    Hi,
I applied for my citizenship in Jan 2008 and was fingerprinted on 22Feb 2008.
I am studying for the USMLE exam which I will be taking from India.
My interview date is 19th of June.
Now my question in,Right now I am in India preparing for this exam, when should I travel back to the US for my interview(I was thinking a week before).
Would this cause any problem ,Is it ok for me to be out of the country for 2 months between FP and interview ?
After the interview,I would like to go back to India for 2 months to finish off my exam, how should I go about it ?I live in Chicago(Do they have oath on the same day as the interview )
    Thanks

    Interview

I dont think it matters when you come back as long as you are present for the interview. They will ask you about any recent trips outside the country after submitting the N-400. You have to mention your recent trip and give the reason for it (Take exam)

Some offices will give you the oath the same day. If that is the case, you are an American citizen for that point on and you would need a passport and visa to go to India.
