OCI - USA New York - Tracker

Hi,

I applied for my OCI from Indian Consulate General, New York on April 7 th.Eventhough 5 weeks gone, I just got the acknowledgement date and photo scanned. The status is still under process.I don't know why it is taking so long? My passport was issued by Indian Consulate General, New York. They have all the details in USA and in India. In this information tech age, our guys are still lethargic and inefficient. If they do their job properly,they need not spend more than 30 mins per applicant.It is really frustrating. Has any one faced this type of inordinate delay before? Your input will be highly appreciated.

Yeah ...

... things are more delayed lately due to large number of applications.

By the way about your sarcastic comments ... have you tried to make the same to the United States authorities when they take several years for "name checks" or other applications like USC etc.?

Just be patient and you'll get your card shortly. Check out the status on-line regularly.
