Hi,

I would like to apply for naturalization in the month of Oct, 90 days before my 5 year term. I would like to use you as my attorney for this. Couple of questions:

1. I have two speeding traffic tickets between the year 2002 - 2003 before I became a permanent resident. Last year my husband had two red light citations with automated camera at the traffic signal. Do I have to answer "yes" to the citation question - "Have you ever been arrested, detained or cited by any law enforcement officer". If answered yes, what supporting documents (if any) do I need to show that those tickets have been paid off?

2.I would also like to change my maiden name to my married last name? What supporting documents do I need to have for that?
How much is your honorarium if I hire you as my attorney for citizenship application?

1. Yes, you have to write "Yes" for traffic violations and you have to provide the copies of cancelled checks as proofs. If you don't have them, you have to get it from the bank.

2. Yes, you can change your name. No separate documents. Provide marriage certificate.

1. Both of my speeding tickets were received in the year 2002-03. I contacted one of the cities for information on that. They said they do not have in their system as it is old and have dropped it. They do not have the dates as well. I remember taking defensive driving for it and the case was dropped after six months. Insurance companies never saw that record.

Do I need to find the check which I used to pay them? Since it is quite a while back, I do not have which check I used to pay. Is it OK, if I go to the municipal court of the city and provide to them showing that my record is good?

Contact the bank to get the copies of all cancelled checks.
