  • Relocating with pending interview - Please help

    Hi,

I have been living and working in state “A” for past 10 years. I applied for my citizenship last year and after months of waiting; finally two weeks back, I received my letter of interview scheduled in third week of July. A week before receiving this letter, I accepted another Job in state “B”. By the time of interview I would have moved to state “B”. My house (my permanent address and residence so far) probably will not be sold by the date of interview. I plan to travel to state “A” a day before the interview and appear in the interview. Remember N400 application has section for applicant’s current and past employment and off course for me this new employment is not listed in there. What kind of problems I might face at the time of Interview or oath due to this relocation. Please share your thoughts. Is there any way I could transfer my application/interview to state “B”?

    Regards,
    Immilaku

I think you should be okay - you should appear in the interview, and when they ask you if any information has changed from the time you applied, you can update the application with your new address and add the employment info. Also I think one of the applications or notices has a phone number on it to notify them of your address changes but not too sure.
