Citizenship interview - PLEASE HELP!!!
Myself and my husband both had citizenship interview on July 15, 2008 at San Jose, CA.
My interview went pretty smoothly and I was out in less than 10 mins with 'congrats' box checked on the N-652 form.
However, on my hosband's N-652 form, it says he passed the civics test, but "Decision will me sent to you by mail" is checked. We are VERY WORRIED. Can some please tell what this means? Is this same as the citizenship being DENIED?
There are three things that are making us very uneasy:
1. He had applied for a name change in the N-400 form. The last name appears as his middle name in the VISA, though it appears correctly in his passport. We thought this is a good opportunity to correct the error and so applied for Name change in the N-400 form. But the Officer during interview said that the San Jose office is no longer processing name change. So I think would not be any issue.
2. My husband had total of 4 trips abroad since we got GC. When the Officer was checking the passport stamps against the N-400 entires, my husband noticed that the officer put a check mark against 7 dates and made a note against 1. We are not sure as to why? After coming home, we cross referenced all the stamps Vs travel dates and noticed that during one of his canada trips, there was no stamp in US side during departure, but there is a Canada stamp on return. Is this normal? since this was an official trip via his company and they were e-tickets, we are hoping the customs records can prove his travel validity.
3. During interview process, the Officer asked if my husband has been questioned/detained any time by Customs during his travel. My husband replied 'No'. But he noticed the officer making a note against this question.
My husband is well educated professional and of good moral character. There was never any issues with customs officials at any point in his travels. He never had any criminal charges against him. Except 1 speeding ticket way back in 1998 and 1 no-u-turn ticket two years ago, there are no major DMV incidents either.
PLEASE HELP!!! Hoping some of you who have experienced the 'Decision will be sent by mail' nightmare will be able to share their experiences.
Question: If the Citizenship is denied, is the GreenCard still valid? Any response will be greatly appreciated. We are sooooooooo worried about this
