  • Oath ceremony

I passed my naturalization test on 05/2006 and waited 2 years to have my name cleared, and finally received the oath ceremony date (07/31/08). I am wondering if my travels abroad between the interview and oath ceremony will delay my oath day (I traveled 3 times for a period of 2 weeks each -6 weeks in total- in a period of 2 years).

    please help.

    Not delayed but ...

... you need to have the exact dates and country information where you travelled. They may most probably ask you to provide this information.

    Good luck.

I took oath yesterday and became a US citizen!!

Since your oath is happening 2 years after the interview, they cannot expect you to be in the US without travelling. However, before the actual oath ceremony you have to return you Green card..at that time they will ask you if you have travelled outside the US and they expect you to provide details of all the trips you have taken. make sure you take your Passport with little post-it stickers next to each entry/exit stamp. they will not give you all the time in the world to keep turning pages to see where the stamp is.

      Good luck.
