  • N-14 issued

    Hi,
My mother had gone for US citizenship interview and passed the read/write and inteview questions as per form 652. But the officer also issued a N-14 stating to bring the following documents in Nov. to show proof of residency in US for last five years:

    old passports
    medical bills
    lease/mortgage papers
    tax returns

My parents have never worked in the US and had no income at all. They have been staying with me and do not have any lease/rent papers.

    1. What do we take with us for Tax returns when a person has never worked or filed a return here?
    2. What shall we give for lease/mortgage papers?
We have the old passport and it has all the dates stamped for US entry they have stayed more than 5 years in the US in the last 6 years. She did not take this expired passport today for the interview but only took the valid passport which is one year old.
We also have a lot of medical bills for the last three years.

    Thanks for your guidance!

    Nik
