  • Interview Result - Follow instruction on N-14

I had my naturalization interview on Oct 14th. I passed the English and History test.
Then officer went over my application. Everything was fine except my trips outside USA. I had 9 trips abroad since my GC in 2002, few trips were almost 5 months long. I did meet criteria for physical and continous residency status. But after filing application in Sept 2007, I took job abroad and my family is abroad. This was due to medical reason and I produced the hospital's certificate for the same.

In 2.5 hrs long interview, officer went to her supervisor twice with my supporting documents. But finally she could not approve neither deny my case. She asked me to see I-14 in mail and submit proof of residency in last 5 yrs. She couldn't tell which specific documents I need to provide.
As I understand that my case is now delayed and may drag for long time.

Along with the application, I had already submitted following documents:
    1. Tax returns for all year from my GC (2002 - 2006) till application filing.
    2. Notarized Renters lease agreement + rent payment check
    3. Copy of Driver’s license.
    4. Copy of Social Security Card.
    5. Copy of Passport with all pages showing arrival/departure dates.
    6. Copy of Re-entry Permit (form I-327) with pages showing arrival dates
    7. Copy of front and back of Permanent Residence Card

I can submit following documents for each year.
So my question is, Are these sufficient documents to prove residency? Or do I need something more. In general how long this process will take?

    2008
    Tax Returns for yr 2007
    Telephone service utility bill
    County Library Account Details
    IRS letter for refunds
    Social Security Administration Letter
    Bank Account statement
    Credit Card statement

    2007 Rental Lease Agreement
    Cable utility Bill
    Salary slip
    Bank statement

    2006
    Bank Statement
    Credit Card Bill
    IRA statement

    2005 Social Security Administration
    County - Vehical Tax
    Electricity Bill
    Salary slip
    Cell phone Bill
    Cable Bill
    Apt Lease

    2004 Salary Slip
    Social Security Administration
    County - Vehical Tax
    Telephone Bill
    Cable Bill
    Doctor's report

    2003 Vehicle purchase invoice
    Doctor's rpt
    Apt release letter
    Salary slip

    2002 Social Security Administration
    Doctor's report

    Your feedback is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Thanks.

send all the documents above. In particular send proof of paying Taxes to IRS. Also if your company is an American company have them send you a letter stating you work for them overseas and that they are reistered and Lic in the US.
But the documents above are also perfect. The more you send the better.
