Citizenship criteria for my son

I work in the US on H1 visa. My son was born in the US and holds US passport.

As he is holding US passport, is he a US Citizen?

Is there any minimum period for which my son has to stay in the US to hold/retain his US citizenship?

After we return to India in next year or two, what will be his status while in India?

Does he have an option to get Indian Citizenship or retain US citizenship?

... you son is an United States citizen for life, no matter what you do.

Sure, he can give up USC and get citizenship of India if he so wishes, but that's obviously not a good choice.
