  • Interview experience at Dallas office - now awaiting oath letter

This forum has been very helpful so thought of sharing my experience. Me and my wife had an interview at the Dallas office this morning 05/04. There was quite a long line and we had to wait for about 90 min before we were called in. The interview itself was pretty straightforward. The officer was very cordial.
    • Asked for my green card and DL
      Asked to sign photographs
Asked a whole set of questions almost same as the app
Asked me to read and write a sentence
Asked 6 questions all of which were straightforward to answer
Officer asked me to sign a couple of documents
Then congratulated me that I have been "recommended for citizenship". I couldn't take the oath the same day since it was already later into the afternoon.

Officer mentioned that it would be 30 days for the oath letters to come out. If I didnt receive a oath letter by 30 days, then I can take an "INFOPASS" to come in and check on delay for oath letter.

      Dallasindian,

It seems your process was about the same as mine (USCIS Miami Field Office). I see you didn't mention they gave you a form N-652, which you're supposed to get after the interview. Did you get one and you forgot to mention it or they didn't give you anything? I didn't get one either and so far no one has been able to tell me if you should always get one or not. All the people I know interviewed at the Miami filed office didn't get an N-652 but they either took the oath right after the interview or walked out the interview with an oath date (Form N-445). That's making me a bit nervous

Interesting they told you 30 days fro your oath letter. The officer that interviewed me told me from one to two weeks, and almost three weeks have passed in my case and no N-445 yet

dear charlie brown and dallas indian

please tell me whcih was your local office and I know that Texas is your service center.

I am waiting for my wife to be naturalised. She will be eligible to apply only on September 2009 and her local office for n400 is Miami,FL and her Service center will be as u know is TX.

I am logging in immihelp for over two years as me and my wife is separated since marriage because of these law restrictions. Then whatever the small piece of information is so vital needless to say. so I am urging all you guys to fed all the informations you know which may give a ray of hope to somebody's life.

I am ready to share whatever I know to each and every body as each case is so different from one another.

I tried visa three times and failed and now I am working in UAE and still living as bachelor. I know that I am not the only person who is suffering from the verdicts by heartless fellows sitting in us visa counters.

                  Hi,

Did the immigration officer ask you the reason for requesting the oath after the interview? I am interested in requesting the oath also because I will be leaving the country two days after interview date.

                  Please assist for some info.

                  Thanks,
                  Stefi

                    Oath letter not received yet

                    Hello All,

My interview was on May 7th and I still havent received the letter for the oath. I was approved and recomended on the same day of the interview.

I went to the immigration building (infopass) and talk to someone and told me that I was in line to be called. Today is May 20th and I haven't received the letter yet.

Dallasindian2006, let me know if you get yours since my case is pretty similar to yours. I will let you guys know when I get it.

It is my understaning that you can take the oath the same day if your interview is before 11:30am. After that the won't process any certificate and you will have to wait for the letter by mail. My interview was at 11:40 and the officer called someone to see if they could process mine and they say No.

                    Anyway, I'll keep you posted
