I'm a US citizen. My wife is from Peru. She's 19 years younger than me and beautiful. We dated for teo months before I asked her to marry me. A few weeks after being married, she started hitting me. After the second time, I called the police. I didn't have them file a report. After the 4th time and a couple of deep wounds (scars) fromfingernails and her threat to kill me in my sleep, I got a restraining order but no charges. I 'Love' her and didn't want to hurt her. We talked through her sister for the three days until the court hearing and she agreed to go to counceling (never happened). I had the order lifted and when her and her sister took off giggling I knew I had messed up. She started another fight by sucker punching me in front of her sister a week later. I left the house saying I was calling the police. usually, she keeps me pinned in a room by standin with her back to the door..punching me if I get too close. I reqrouped outside and figured since her sistee witnessed it maybe now she would go to counceling. (nope) Easter I got a break because she is supposed to be a devout Catholic. two days ater she started a huge fight over nothing. This time she wouldn't let me out of the bedroom. I went for the bathroom to call 911 and she followed me there and hopped on the toilet to try and knock my cell phone out of my hand with a hair dryer...i tried to bolt out , she jumped on my back and we fell. it turns out after the police came (no marks, no charge) she was taken out of the house on a stretcher!! She ended up having a slightly sprained ankle and was walking fine three days later....BUT she got the bruie she was looking for. She went to the commissioner and got a restraining order and a 2nd degree assault charge. Now for my question. I was told by an aquaintence that she can get citizenship by being a victim of domestic abuse. This would explain everything. (yes I've been very stupid....i actually believed she loved me). I have a great lawyer but need to find information about this possible motive. Thanks

From what you described, it seems that she got hurt while trying to fight with you and trying to hurt you. You didn't do any domestic violence to her but she did to you.
I suggest that you get the lawyer that is experience both in immigration and in criminal fields.Immihelp Support
