  • Online Case Status is not update even after finger printing...

    Hi All,

I live in Detroit, MI. I sent N-400 to Phoenix, AZ 03/19/09. I gave my finger prints on 04/21/09 in Detroit. Still in USCIS website case status is just showing that they received my N-400. Did anybody face the same situation? Did you receive interview notice without case status had changed online? Do I need to inquire somewhere ? If so, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Hari.

    Online case update

I do not think the system actually updates your information. I have had multiple updates from USCIS and the data still show only the initial submission .

If you call the customer service line and put your receipt in, that too has the outdated information exactly as it is on the website.

    Hope this helps.

I just became a US Citizen after applying in January 2009 and for the entire duration of the almost 5 months process, the online case worked only once and just for the receipt of the application part, it usually gave me errors on my case that made me freak-out at the beginning but then I realized the system was not good

And the telephone helpline is the same thing, they actually tell you the same information you see on the website which is kinda' weird. Why is there a phone helpline then? The only thing that worked in my case was Infopass. I had to go the field office after a month since my interview passed and didn’t receive the oath notice, I went and got the notice two days after!

So don’t worry. Look and compare to normal processing times in the office you’re applying and if you see one of the stages goes off the normal processing times, request an Infopass. The norm is that if 45 days pass without hearing from USCIS, you should request an Infopass. Keep in mind the whole process is taking between 4 and 6 months for a straightforward case.

        online status

I would not worry about it. My cases only showed up when they issued the EAD and AP documents. The I-485 and I-130 did not show up until after the Interview. but everything went well took 2 1/2 months total time.

USCIS does not seems to update the case status on web as the case moves along. I had my N-400 status as revceived my application even after i completed my ctizenship interview & civic test. status has not been updated even after receiving citizenship and Passport.

Don't panic and do not depend on USCIS website for the case status. wait for the mail man to bring some thing for you. things go faster via postal. Good luck

                Online

It should update, from my experience, which is a month ago (August 2017), about a week of my biometrics, i check my status and it did update as "interview was scheduled" that i have to wait for the letter in the mail.

And it was scheduled almost 6 weeks from the biometric schedule.

Then after two weeks of my interview, i received a letter that my schedule of the oath taking ceremony, which approximately 7 weeks from the interview date.

Hope that helps--i have to say, I'm single, family-based petition, and living in the US for 5 years.

And i submitted my application about 2 weeks before my 5-year stay here in the US.

I'll be happy to answer any question that may help you guys.

                Good luck!

Did you get an update on your case online before you got the oath notice in the mail? My wife who had interview same day as me but different officer got her status updated online that she was scheduled for oath within 3 days of the interview and got her oath notice this week for ceremony next week. My case still shows scheduled for ceremony. We were both told to expect notification within 2 weeks.

My online status said "oath ceremony scheduled" "if you don't receive your notification by oct 19th, please call". interesting because my oath was Sept 30th!!
