My wife got a green card through me. We have been married for almost 7 years. I am a citizen of course. She became a resident 2 years ago (before that she had a different work visa). To apply for citizenship, does she need to be a resident for 5 years, or can she apply after 3 years, since she got it through our marriage?

She can apply 90 days prior to her 3 years if you are still married and living together. otherwise she can apply 90 days prior to her being a permanent resident for 5 yrs.
