  • Citizenship Interview postponing

Hi, I am going to India for 6 weeks at the end of July. I have citizenship interview scheduled for July15th. I wanted to postpone my interview. Can any one please advise me, if i can request for 2months postponement for the interview? Or is there any other way, like I can attend the interview and still can go to India, may be with out taking the Oath, so that I will be still Indian Citizen, with Green card until I come back.

You should schedule an appointment to talk with an Information Officer at the interviewing office. Some offices will administer the oath of Allegiance the same day or same week of being approved. If you're office doesn't do that then they would probably be able to postpone your interview for a couple months, but you have to specifically let them know when you will return. If you're unable to go to the office then at least send a letter to the office informing them of your travel.
