  • getting married before oath date...help

    hello guys,

i am going to get married out of country to get married before my oath date. and on oath back (N-445) page they ask question if i was married from the date of interview. i want to know if that will affect my eligibility for my naturalization? i have knew her for some 10years now and its a legal marrage. please help me.. thanks in advance.

The certificate of naturalization states your current marital status (which I presumed right now is single or divorced). The reason the N-445 asks if you changed your marital status since your interview is to alert the Service of this change so that a certificate of naturalization can be prepared. Your marriage will not affect your eligibility to naturalize.
