So as you know, I mailed off my application on Thursday (USPS Priority Mail) and I probably made a mistake by adding the *Certified Mail feature. I paid like $3 for that thinking that it was just another way to make sure my packet didn't get lost. Well, I tracked my packet online today and it says "Notice Left." USPS left a notice for USCIS to pick up the packet at the post office or call them so they can redeliver it. Will they really do that? Probably not, huh? I don't know what to do! Has anyone had this happen to them? What should I do?

But did it happen when you were sending something to the USCIS PO BOX? I'm just worried because the online tracking says that the "recipient" must fill out a form that was left in the po box in order to request a re-delivery or pick it up in person, and if they don't do it in 15 days, then the packet will come back to me! I would miss out on a few weeks of processing time! However, I actually think the only option would be for them to pick it up because I just read that when you send something throught certified mail (as I did), someone must sign off for it. Can someone really sign off at a po box? Aren't po boxes located at an actual post office? Ugh! I don't know. I'll just keep checking next week. My packet hasn't even gotten to them and I'm already stressing! LOL

I am glad its delivered. I understand why you were worried. Dealing with USCIS is never easy.

Now, you will start worrying about receiving your NOA, then Fingerprints Notice e.t.c LOL.

It will be over soon. Wish you a smooth Journey!

              Best regards

                • Poisontee, I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but I was wondering something....

                  Regarding the fingerprints appointment:
Do they specify the TIME you have to show up or do they just give you a date? Also, did you have to take a day off of work?

                    Saleen15-

You are doing great to be proactive with the USCIS.

On your Fingerprints notice, the do specify a time,a date and a location. However depending on your location, you might be able to do a walk in. My Austin Application Support Center was almost empty and the staff there are very friendly. I choose to Just follow the instructions and went on my scheduled date. It took something like 15 mins and I was out of there!!

                    Good luck!!

I have seen many posts about a successful walk-in, I was not allowed to do that, I had to wait until my appointment date, the process took 15 mins overall. I'd suggest you to try a walk-in and if you are not allowed just go ahead and go on the day of your appointment.

I don't think CA- Bayarea centers would allow Walk-ins since all the centers will be usually crowded always with GC applicants & other visa FP.

Saleen seems to be bit excited & pro-active about the N-400 process :-)

                          • The "yellow letter" is not the interview letter. You will get an official interview letter for each of you with date, time and location of your interview. It will also list any documents you are required to take with you.

                            All the best.

I just checked my case status online and a RFE was mailed to me on the 2nd. So now, I'll have to wait a couple of days to see what the hold up is. Bummer! I've seen some posts from people, though, where they see this message online, but really their fingerprints appointment is what was really sent. We'll see what happens.
