I started working here in US at year 2006, was it true that I still have to wait two more years before I can file my application because USCIS is going to ask for my w-2's for the past 5 years?

No, that's not true. The officer will ask you how supported yourself for the past five years. W-2's will not be request, though tax returns may be requested to verify that you did pay your taxes and/or to verify you were a dependent if you claim someone supported you.
