  • Father and Grandfather both Americans

    Hey,
I wonder if anyone here knows about the procedure of being naturalized in the USA. As the title says, both of them were Americans (both diseased tho) but I was born in Poland and lived in Germany for most of my life (German citizen). My wife is American (married since Sept.2000) too and we both live in the US. I'd rather become an American than apply for the Green-Card. Any suggestions?
    Thanks

If your wife American and you are not. then you have to apply for Permanent resident card (green card) first. It's long process and takes time. once you get the green card then you can apply for Citizenship.

If you are not live in US and never been applied it. Then come first in USa then go to Social security office and get your SS#. after that apply for Green Card. If you will recevied the Conditional Green card then you have to apply it again after two year for another green card.

Once you get the Green card at least for 10 years then you will be consider for citizenship.

    Thanks

Are you positive about all that? It's very important to me. You mean, I can apply for the SSN before even getting the GREEN-CARD?
      Thanks

You mean, it will take another 10 years eventho we've been already married for 10 years?

          Hi,

If you are married and not live in USA after marriage then you have to apply start from scretch.

If you don;t know the complete process then it's better to hire a Lawyer.
Lawyer can do it everything for you regarding your green card case.

If you don't have SSN and Green card then in your case you need atleast 2 to 3 years to reach the citizenship proecedure after apply for green card.

          Thanks
