        Dear Poisontee and others

I have a question to you.

As you know we can apply n400 3 months prior to 5 year completion. Do they process the same before 3 months.

Or they will wait till the 5 year term is completed to give an interview date?

        pls clarify

Based on what I have read, not experienced, some people have been called for interviews before the 5 yrs period. The officers postponed there oath dates till they got to that 5 yr mark.

My interview was 5 days before my 5 year period and did not have any problems during the interview. The office approved my application and I got the oath letter later in the mail for Nov 13th..

                  PJ-
I would call the fbi line at 304-625-5590 or 304-625-2406 to check the fingerprint status.
They will let you know if your fingerprints have been sent back to uscis. If they have, then i believe you should be getting the interview letter soon. After a month after the prints , then i would start to worry. For now, you are ok pj.

                  best regards,

                        Clarification Required

                        Dear Poisontee

In your thread you pointed out that passport card is convenient than passport book.

                        Both are required?

                        Pls clarify

The new wallet-size U.S. Passport Card is a travel document that can be used to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry. Note that it cannot be used for international air travel. The passport card is more convenient and less expensive than a passport book.

So if your travel is limited to these countries only and by land/sea then you can get away with just a card otherwise you need the traditional passport

to find more details just vist the state department travel website and go topassport section.

You keep your passport. Its the property of your "old nationality". However, you will have to surrender your Green card at the oath ceremony. You will be given your Naturalization certificate at the ceremony.
