You keep your passport. Its the property of your "old nationality". However, you will have to surrender your Green card at the oath ceremony. You will be given your Naturalization certificate at the ceremony.

    Best Wishes!

Also, I believe your old passport is not valid anymore after you get the new US passport.

The Validity of your passport depends on whether your country accepts dual citizenship or not.

I would say 2-4 weeks! Mine took 2 weeks!

I would call the fbi line at 304-625-5590 or 304-625-2406 to check the fingerprint status.

          Best wishes!

Yes you can travel without any problem. You are a legal permanent resident until the time you turn in your GC and take the Oath as an American citizen.

As long as your days outside the US doesn't push you above the days allowed outside without messing up your GC status, then you will have no problems!

                      best wishes!

                        Dear All

I have decided to travel to India on 8th as my interview is on 7th Dec.I will return to USA on 19th.

If the VO asks about the OATH date can we give any date of our convenience?

Or we have to attend the same on a date by USCIS?

or is it wise to postpone a date by USCIS?

                        pls help

                            Interview passed

                            Dear All

I have passed my interview yesterday in Oakland Park ASC
                            Here is my experiance

                            Interview time:10:15 am
Reached 09:30 am, finsished security check in 10 mins and given the appointment letter. They gave one sticker stating that I am there for n400 interview.
There was about 200 people were there in the waiitng area I think for OATH
One VO came and called my name at 10:15 am
First He wanted me to sign all the papers and on photos
He started asking my personal details by looking at the N400, answered correctly.
Then he asked "Have you studied well" answered "I studied well but little nerveous". He replied with a smile "No need to be nervous".
He wanted me to write and read one sentence--done correctly-he wrote passed
Then he asked about 4 questions
How many judges are there in Supreme Court
What is term for a senator
                            When was Declaration of Independence
Whos is the governor of the state

Then came the golden words "congratulations, you are passed"
Then I asked when will be the oath he replied mostly on 16-dec-2009. Again I asked Sir if you can give me a correct date I can adjust my duty accordingly
Then he checked the computer for few minutes and confirmed that the OATH will be on 12/16/2009 the letter will be mailed to me today itself
I said thank you sir and left the room

It took around 15-20 mins to finish the interview
VO was so cordial and helpful

                            That was my interview!

Since your application was approved, it could be the date you were promised is full and you will be scheduled for the next available date!

Also don't rule out the possibility of your mail getting lost in the mail.

                                Good luck!
