Hi,
I would like to share my citizenship interview experience that might help other members going to attend the interview.
My interview was at 12:45 PM yesterday (10/21). I entered into SFO field office 30 mins. before the scheduled time.
They asked me to show my appointment letter and photo ID to enter into the building. Just followed the regular security screening. At the 2nd floor reception desk, they took appointment letter and gave passport application form and asked to wait in the waiting area for your turn. Cell phones are allowed but should be turned off in the waiting hall.
Interview officer called my name around 12:45 PM and taken to her office.
She is very friendly and jovial. She asked my green card, passport and drivers license and asked to sign on the pictures submitted along with N-400 application.
Went thru my N-400 and asked few questions on what we filled in the application. Asked to sign on the N-400 application in the last page. Then she gave one letter with my details like name, DOB printed asked to check and sign if these are correct.
Started the interview.
Reading one sentence: "When is Columbus day"
Writing one sentence: "Columbus day is in October"
As I remember, she asked the following 6 civics questions.
1. What does the President’s Cabinet do ?
2. If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President ?
3. We elect a U.S. Senator for how many years?
4. How many justices are on the Supreme Court ?
5. Name one branch or part of the government?
6. When do we celebrate Independence Day?
She congratulated and gave a letter that I passed the interview. It was very easy and quick. I felt very happy.
She said that there is oath ceremony at Nov.5th and asked if I can attend. I said yes. She asked me to wait in the waiting area to receive Oath schedule letter. Whole interview process took less than 10 mins and it was over before 1:00 PM.
After 30 mins., another officer handed over the letter for Oath ceremony told that you have the oath on Nov.5th in SFO Masonic center.
My Interview was so easy. No need to feel stressed or tensed. Prepare well on civics 100 questions. Important documents are GC, Passport and DL. You may carry any supporting docs based on your case. Also go thru your N-400 application before you attend the interview.
