My wife and I both were interviewed for N-400 back in early October 2009She had her interview conducted by a different officer and mine was different too. Ours is not a marriage case. My application was recommended for approval after the interview and her's said 'a decision yet cannot be made'.
Three days back she got her oath ceremony letter and I have not received mine. For both of us the 'on-line status' is the same, it did not change - it says that we are at the interviewing stage. Should I go to the local office and ask about my oath letter. I would like that we both do oath at the same ceremony date. Called customer service and they were not that helpful.
    Any suggestions.....

    Fm77-
the online status is almost never right. I took my oath, still says application received.

On your oath letter, I would do an info pass and ask about your oath letter. Best case scenario, walk out of there with your letter. Based on your officers work load, he/she might be in the process of sending you your letter. Your wifes officer might have had a lighter work load.

Sometimes the post office can misplace your mail or put it on the wrong mail box.

    When is your wifes oath?

    best regards,
    Poisontee!

      Hi fm77
It looks as if we are on the same boat, my cause is similar to yours, the only difference is, i was requested to provide Tax Docs and still no reply. Anyway thanks to Poisontee and PJ for their kind words and comfort. Taking an infopass is wasting time because you will never get anything from them, as Poisontee said, if they mailed your letter and misplaced somewhere by a PO employee, then thats another. Lets hope that not to happen to all immigrants waiting for such an important letter. God bless and help every immigrant going thru such a processs.

N-400 is kind of interesting & suspense. I have seen quite a few people in this forum saying that they were informed in the interview that they passed the test, they are recommended for citizenship & would receive Oath letter in couple of weeks. But Oath letter never arrives. So, we just cant be happy until we attend Oath ceremony & get certificate

Per "infopass", thats the only way to know about our case. Calling up INS office is just a waste of time.

            Dear FM77 and DTRAIN

I would suggest you to wait until you hear from USCIS. As you know thousands are in similar situation in US and even out of USA like me.

Though the INFOPASS and INS are waste of time we dont have much options left for the information regarding the cases. Like poisontee said wait until your oath letter arrives.

Its a waitng game like " TOM AND JERRY"

Dont be impatient and hopeless your letter will reach you soon

              Oath

I got my oath letter yesterday in the mail. I am also scheduled for Dec 4th.
What docs do I need to take with me and hand over to USCIS. If we apply for passports at the same time, do we need just the naturalization certificate only or the foreign birth certificate as well.
              Thanks.
