I'm running across conflicting info on USCIS website and elsewhere. My foreign born husband and I have been married for 3 years continuously in the US, and he received his 10 year green card recently. We were married in November 2006 and he got his conditonal green card in May of 2007. He wants to apply for citizenship. Does the rule say he can apply 3 years after our wedding date or 3 years after he received the conditional green card?

So he applies 3 years from the date he received his conditional green card? Or can he apply 3 years after the marriage date? We have been married for 3 years. The conditional green card took time to arrive, not until May 2007. He now has the 10 year card. Can he apply for citizenship NOW or does he have to wait until May??

Okay I provided the answer in my initial post, but lets do this elementary style:
Look at his green card for the section that says "resident from" . that is the date you will start counting 3 years from.
he can apply 90 days before he reaches the exact 3 yrs from the date I mentioned above.
Clear now? Hope so!Disclaimer:Please bear in mind, my comments are not to be construed as legal advice. These are just my reasonings, based on my personal immigration experience or what I have read. Pay for legal advice or call USCIS to verify my comments.

The date reads "Resident Since". Like mariejm said, add three (3) years to that date and subtract 90 days. You'll have the earliest date he can apply for citizenship, given that you are still married and live together and he satisfies other requirements, like continuous residence, physical presence, good moral character, etc.
Cheers.
