  • Texas - Interview

My appointment was at 10:30 I reached at 10AM. I was called around 11:45. Interview went very fast just 10 minutes.
She said first start interview question so you can feel free to answer N400 I said ok.

    Here are the questions.
Who is the Governor of your state now?
What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?
Who is the “Father of Our Country”?
What was one important thing that Abraham Lincoln did?*
Name two national holidays. Where is the Statue of Liberty?*

She stoped asking me after i answered 1st 6 right.

Reading: Who lives in white house?
Writing: President lives in white house.

I was not able to take same day oath because they close oath ceremony time line by 11:30 she said I will receive letter in a month.

Good luck for every one waiting for interview.

I'll appreciate if you can put some details about the interview please. I wonder if the AO goes thru the N-400 questions with the applicant, is it the case that these officers are reviewing the application for the first time? Otherwise it does not make sense to go thru each and every question with the applicant. Can some senior members shed some light on this.

          Thanks

I had posted my experience in one of the threads. My interview was in San Francisco. Officer went thru each & every page of N-400 form. They would have reviewed your application many times before interview. But they just want to make sure that you are the actual candidate & saying truth.
Officer asked me for my full name, DOB, my height, current address, all the previous addresses, why I changed the addresses, my previous employers name, current employer address, my international trips - asked me to show the proof in my passport, my employer details who filed my GC (she even had the original I-140 paper filed by my employer 6yrs back), my age when I became GC holder (this is for Self service eligibility calculation), asked me every question from those Yes/No checkboxes, asked me in detail about my DMV tickets along with proof, about my taxes etc... Then my US history questions started.

I have mentioned all these in detail in one of my threads if you want to refer. "N-400 process in CA - Arizona" something like that...

Hope this helps you to prepare for your interview

lol...looks like we both are active on this forum at the same time

Nope, you dont have to remember the street etc...Just the city, state name & the dates (month, year) along with duration is good enough for your previous addresses.
Per International trips, I told officer the date/month/year & duration of each trip. So, I would suggest memorize the dates. They will ask you to show the proof in your passport, so be prepared to show them the dates stamp in your passport.

All the best with your interview I dont check this forum threads everyday, so If you have any questions & need my help, send me email... my profile id@ yahoo domain.

During my interview the officer asked me to give Passport, GC and SSN card and she started reading N400 form page by page and she asked me to tell any information changed after I submitted my application. She didn’t ask any specific question from N400 but make sure to go thru your N400 before interview and memorize the information in that form. After interview she returned my passport, GC and SSN.

It’s been more than a month I didn’t receive my Oath letter so far. I checked the status in online no update. Is it possible to talk to someone in citizenship process to get details?
