  • Citizenship/Naturalization question

It has been a little more than 4 years and 9 months since I have got my Green Card. As per the USCIS guidelines, I believe I can file for my citizenship application. I have 2 questions and would appreciate if someone on this forum can help me -

    1. Residence test - Should I be staying in the state/city of application fo LAST 90 days? Does it mean that if I have travelled outside my current state or US in last 90 days, I cannot file my application? I think it just means "Must have been residing in the state you are applying in for at least three months".

    2. Once I apply, can I go to India for a short trip of 2 weeks before interview date?

The reason I am asking because I have to visit India for a couple of weeks and want to know should I wait until I get my citizenship or I can file my application and go to India and comeback in 2 weeks.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    1. Please clarify your travel in detail.
    2. Yes, you can go. Just make sure that you are here in the US for fingerprinting, interview and oath.
