CItizenship After Divorce to US citizen

Hi All,
I got married to US citizen and got temporary GC then they were frequent quareels goes between us but i continue to stay with him and applied for Permanent GC and it got approved and the life is so miserable with him i am planning to divorce him. If i divorce him do i apply for citizenship in 3yrd yeard of my GC? Its a rule that if you are married to US citizen and stay married to him then u can apply for citizenship in 3 years. but here i am planning to get divorce so can i apply to citizenship of mine in 3 years.

No, if you are not married to US citizen and not living with him/her at the time of application, you can not apply for citizenship in 3 years. You will have to wait 5 years.
