  • Naturalization: fines documentation

    Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you for doing a place like this. It is helpful to people. Good job.

I have a question for you guys. I am going to apply for N400 based in 5 years in California.

I have heard that you need to fill out all fields in the application and put N/A in the fields are empties. For instance, part 9 B I just have 1 baby. So do I need to put N/A in the other fields?.

Second one, I just have a fine (less $500) due to red light in my driver license and I took a trafic school. In addition, I have a point in my DL due to a little accident in parking lot but I didn´t get any fine only reported to insurance.
The N400 instructions say: Note that unless a traffic incident was alcohol or drug related, you don´t need to submit documentation for traffic fines and incidents that didn´t involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500 or points on your DL.

Anyways, Do I need to send some documentation??.

    Thank you in advance

    1. Yes.
    2. You don't have to mention those violations and you don't need any documentation for that.

        Hi again,

I am sorry, but I have another question:

1 I need to attach a separate sheet of paper in part 6 B (Employment).
What should I include?. I read that I have to include: sign, date, A# and
name. Is it correct?. Do I need something else?.

2 I need to clarify the N/A question:
In the instruction guide it says - "If a question does not apply to you, write N/A (meaning ''Not Applicable'') in the space provided."
Should I sprinkle the word "N/A" everywhere there is a blank in the form even it doesn´t apply to me:
        - Table listing other names used - Fill unused spaces with N/A (3 columns)
        - Name change field - I am not doing a name change, fill all the spaces with N/A
        - Tables listing residence stayed and employments, listing of children, time outside U.S., affiliations - Should I fill empty spaces with N/A?

3 What about the field "Care of". What does it mean??

        Thank you
