Citizenship: Time as a resident in a USCIS district or state

Greetings!

USCIS website states "Most people must live in the USCIS district or state in which they are applying for at least 3 months before applying." We have been living at our present address for more than two years, but went to India for 6 weeks and just came back. Should we wait for another 3 months before filling N-400?

Yes, do mention the traffic incidents in your application

helpwithh1, I think you may be wrong.

Follow the N400 instructions:
The N400 instructions say: Note that unless a traffic incident was alcohol or drug related, you don´t need to submit documentation for traffic fines and incidents that didn´t involve an actual arrest if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500 or points on your DL.

If you were not arrested, then you do not have to list it. If you were arrested, then you must provide the arrest record and disposition of the case.

Citizenship / 90 day rule

This is my first post in this group. I am a Resident and my Citizenship eligibility of 4 years 9 months is almost nearing. I have been living more than 3 years in OH and I can apply for Citizenship in Feb end. Now I got a 6 month project in TX and right now in TX working as a consultant. I understand that I have to be atleast 3 months resident in TX before applying for Citizenship.

My question is

1) Since this is a temporary job, can I apply from OH or

2) I should wait for 90 days to complete and then apply if so, what is
the official document which is recognized by INS/DHS for counting the 90 days or rather how the 90 days district stay is calculated. I am kind of confused in this. Don't know the correct law on this.

Can somebody clarify my doubts please.

Well, the rule only says do not provide documentation if it wasn't alcohol or drug related. I believe they still expect you to list violations like speeding and red light running.

If you know you are moving back to OH after six months, its better to initiate the application there.

Mentioning about your traffic citation

I think the appropriate place to mention about traffic offence is against the question #16 (Part 10D).

Just check the box "Yes" and provide details in the box between question # 21 and 22.

I am going to answer to everybody about the problem of traffic fines:

First of all, You should read the instructions though are some ambiguous on this point of Good moral character. Only send documentation if it is related DUI or if you were arrested or cited by a law enforcement officer or go to court.

Second one, the best way you can do is CALL to Immigration Customer Service. They are going to answer any question regarding N-400 application. I did that and They told me ONLY put that information it you got arrested or cited by offense or crime . They are MINOR infractions that they don´t need you to put in the N400 application. Anyways, The said that you can bring the tickets you paid if you´re feeling better. Don´t worry about this.
