  • Continous Residence?

    Hi,

I have been out of country visiting India during year 2005 (60 days), 2006(70 days) and 2008 (60 days) in total of 190 days out of country after getting Green Card in Jan 2005. As per citizenship eligibility rules it states continuous 180 days to 1year if you are out of country that breaks continuous residency. I guess i am eligible to apply for citizenship since i did not go out of country for 180 days continuously?

Appreciate if anyone can clarify me if my assumption is correct?

    Thanks,
    vasu

You are eligible. What USCIS is referring to a single trip of more than 180 days. So you are good. Good Luck with your application
