  • Oath ceremony scheduled! In court house. QUESTIONS

I finally got scheduled for the Oath Ceremony which will be at the court house of the city where I live. However the letter shows a day that doesn't appear in the court's calendar as one with a naturalization ceremony (other days do). Is this normal?

Also what was your experience in a court ceremony? Can you take relatives? Can you take phones to take photos? All the ceremonies I've seen in Youtube are off-site, with celebrations, guests giving speeches, etc.. I wonder how the in court ones are.

    Thanks.

    P.S. No, I haven't changed my name.

I called the court to confirm and they told me there is no ceremony going on the date my letter says, that they have one on another day. They asked me to call USCIS which I did unsuccessfully, the L2 officer told me that I should follow whatever the notice is saying, that the court might not know yet, and that USCIS might have arranged something... I called the court again and they laughed when I told them, they said that they plan the whole year's schedule ahead of time, that that's not how it works..

I called again USCIS, this time they couldn't pass me to a L2 officer, but the lady who attended me was much nicer and spent time researching. She confirmed the date, but she said the location she had on screen was Norfolk, VA, not the federal court in my city, ??? What the heck?

What should I do? I haven't received the notice by snail mail yet, this is only the PDF one I can see in my profile.

    Thanks.
