    For anyone who's case is taking over 120 days for final approval by the USCIS and you are still waiting for the oath date, if you have $3000-4000 spare, you can have an immigration attorney file a mandamus action in the district court, which will force the USCIS to take action on your case - now it doesn't guarantee an approval of course, but at least you won't be left wondering and stressing about the status of your case. I did this and within a month of filing the action, my oath was scheduled for March 6th.

      Did you get your oath ceremony?
      here is my problem:
      Filed for citizenship 01/18/2018
      Final citizenship interview at USCIS fairfax, VA 09/24/2018
      Ceremony = never
      It has been over 15 months since I did my citizenship civics+ English test and interview and passed it.
      i was told that I will be getting the oath ceremony notice within the next few weeks.
      Didn’t hear after that. Did a lot of inquiries using online service, phone service, inquiry congressman in VA and all I get in response is “In progress” and that I have to wait.
      What are my best options?
      This is really frustrating for me right now. I would understand if the delay would be even 6 months but this has been ridiculously long.
      I spoke to lawyers. One lawyer told me that it will cost me 5k+ to sue the immigration for a decision.
      another lawyer told me that I can file N400 again and go through the whole process once again.
      I have been thinking to sue the immigration for decision but I don’t have that kind of money to spend.
      am I the only one going through such aituation and this ridiculous amount of wait?
      has anyone experienced the same experience?
      any advice?

          Yes, I received the letter notifying me of the date of my oath ceremony without any court hearing. On 6th March I took the oath and received my certificate of naturalization.

            Sorry to read that. I think your only options are: a) keep doing inquiries or b) sue. Good luck.
