So we filed my husbands N400 on September of 2018. He had his biometrics in October and now we are currently just waiting on the interview. A few months after we filed. He got into an altercation with a customer who was giving trouble outside of his business and out of anger he hit the driver side window of the mans car. The window broke. Police came. Gave my husband a ticket. It was a charge for simple property damage. He Did not touch the man. Just the window. There is no charge but the simple property damage. That’s all. He’s been to court and finished the case already. He pled not guilty. Payed 180 restitution to the man. They then dismissed it. He has no other charge but a dismissed assault charge back in 2013. Dismissed with no conviction. He’s been here since 2010. Will this simple property damage be an issue during the interview?? What can we expect?? Can anyone relate?? I’m so worried that this is gonna be an issue. I hope not tho. Caz my husband didn’t touch anyone. Just the broken side window. Help!

It should not be an issue. It’s typically a misdemeanor and it was dismissed. Many people have naturalized after committing minor infractions just before or after the interview. You need to have all the papers related to it. Looks like your husband had anger management issues. He needs to get a grip and change his behavior before something worse happens.

I agree with Paulthesheik. He should be ok as long as he presents all the related documents, but for sure the Officer will noticed of his character and anger management issues, specially since only been here for 9 years. I can guaranty you that if he doesn't change that pattern he's inviting trouble
