I know this topic has been discussed a lot, but I am getting conflicting information, so I was hoping to get some clarity. I am just getting ready to submit my N-400. In my last 18 years in this country, I have received my fair share of speeding tickets (probably 5 or 6 in total) in different states, 2 tickets for jumping a red light and maybe 1 or 2 parking tickets. I've NEVER gotten any major tickets like DUI or reckless driving and I have never been arrested. In all of these cases, I have just paid my ticket without contesting it. The problem is that I only have details for the 3 most recent speeding tickets that I pulled from my driving record from the DMV in the state that I live in right now, dating back to about 5 years. I do not have documentation for the other tickets prior to 2014 and from other states.
1. Should I answer the "Have you ever been arrested, cited or detained....." question with a Yes? If so, is it ok if I just list the 3 most recent speeding tickets for which I have information? Or should I try contacting the other states DMV to try and get my driving record and capture all tickets from the past?
2. What should I answer on the very next question "Have you ever been CONVICTED of a crime or offense". My 3 most recent speeding tickets are listed on my driving record as a "Conviction". I never contested them and just paid the ticket. Does that mean I should answer this question with a Yes?
Thank you for your patience in reading thru this and for your responses!
