  • Second re entry permit and four years and one day rule

    hello,
I will appreciate any help on my case. To make the story short:
I received my green card in 2015.
few days later I applied for my first re entry permit, received it and left the US for 2 years.
I turned back in Nov 2017 and stayed for 3 months, got my second reentry permit and left the US.
I turned back this time only after 40 days! ( thankfully I did not have to stay longer )
Can I use 4 years and one day rule based on my first reentry permit?
Or do I have to wait a good 5 years just because I turned back before one year with my second reentry permit?
    Thanks

I knew nothing about the 4year and a day rule until moments ago when I googled for it

My gut feel tells me that your 5 year clock will start at Nov 2017 meaning that you need to wait until 2022
After all... you only had a few days in the USA in 2015 and then immediately left.
But that is only a gut feel.

This website gives lots of explanations
Naturalization applicants generally must satisfy a continuous residence requirement and physical presence requirement when filing Form N-400.
