My mom is 55 and older and has been on a green card in US for more than 15 years. She has applied for N400 and she has an interview scheduled in August 27th. What do I need to do to provide her with an interpreter? Just fill out form G1256 by her and the interpreter and take it with her on the day of the interview? Is there anything special that needs to be filled out or done for this? Please let me know. Thank you.

I've just been reading the policy manual and memorandum on this topic. Prior to that I had zero knowledge.
One thing is clear in those documents... the interpreter must be unbiased.
They must have no vested interest in seeing her succeed or fail.
Are you using a professional interpreter?
I think a family member would be very risky because the interviewer would not consider them to be unbiased.
They are supposed to act like "Google Translate" and simply translate from one language to the other.
They must not guide the applicant or... even worse... give them answers in the civics test.... that would be cheating.
Did you read that policy manual memo?
