Hi,
I filed for U.S. citizenship and got the offer to do an internship in Shanghai for 6 months ( which I'm coming back earlier so 5.5 months to avoid any problems with my green card) so I received the fingerprints notice that I had to take it on a wednesday the beginning of march but I am allowed to go at the same time every wednesday until the end of May. Now, I was planning on finding a ticket and getting the fingerprints done since calling the consulates here and having my sister in the US call the USCIS help line has not given me any new answers if I can extend them so I figured the best thing to do was to go back to the states. Now, based on what I've read once you get your fingerprints taken it takes about 2 months to get your interview notice, if that is the case I will still not be in the states until a few weeks later.
So my questions is, can I extend my fingerprinting notice OR extend my interview date or atleast somehow solve the problem of extending it until the middle of August when I am back in the states? I already can't really afford the ticket to come back for the fingerprints but I cannot afford to pay for 2 plane tickets to come back again if my interview gets scheduled before the 16th of August when I'm back.
If anyone could help me with this I would truly appreciate this as I don't know where to get answers anymore.
