  • Expired Greencard... Citizenship??!

Can a person apply for Citizenship with a Permanent Resident Card that has expired 4 years ago?
Let's say... the person lives in the US, hasn't left the US, does not have a criminal record, and is elderly. Can they still apply for Citizenship?
If so, How or What might they have to do? Also, they've lost their passport, but still has a valid drivers license.

First, if you file I-90 to renew your green card, then you can definitely apply for naturalization based on your I-90 receipt, before getting the physical card.

There is some conflicting opinions on whether you can file without filing I-90; some people say you should be able to since you are a permanent resident, some people say otherwise.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
