  • Question For Citizenship

    Hi everyone,

I got married to USC on July 15,2017 and gained my 2yrs GC on Aug 15,2018 which means 13 months later. My question is, I will be married for 3 years on July 15,2020 and will be eligible to apply for citizenship as I know. But since I have a conditional card, will I be able to apply for citizenship or should I get my 10 year card first in order to apply? Thanks in advance for your answers.

You are not eligible for naturalization under the 3 year rule until you have been a permanent resident for 3 years (and you can file 90 days early). So the earliest you can apply is May 17, 2021 (90 days before you have been a permanent resident for 3 years).

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
