All, I am new to this site - please forgive me if this was already discussed. As we are getting ready for the interview this 22nd in Memphis, one of my friend told me that they will ask for originals of Marriage certificate, birth certificates, etc. We have the birth certificates, but only copy of Marriage certificate. I am trying to understand if marriage certificate is must have or not - please share your thoughts.

IF your application is based on marriage using the 3 year rule..... they may indeed want to see the original and any translations if married overseas
If your application is based on Individual 5 year rule.... it's less critical... but if any of your children are minors (under 18)... they get their citizenship for free when you do so.. the marriage certificate may become an issue again.
In any case, you really should think about getting a new original certificate or a certified copy for future reference whether the USCIS ask for that or not.
