Police Records !

Need help with obtaining police records for my parents..
My father used to work for the government and he was posted to several countries, mostly third world countries.Therefore, my parents lived in about 5 countries, before I was born.
I am now sponsoring my parents for citizenship. However, on the naturalization application, it says we need to provide a police record from every country that my parents have lived in.
I've tried calling the embassies of the respective countries, and they will NOT help. Not sure what to do now.. ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

After a bit of googling I found this resource

By choosing a country on the left side, it tells you what is and isn't available from that country and how to go about getting the documents if they are available.
EDIT: Select a country on the left then scroll down on the right until you see "Police Court Prison Records".

It's understandable that these countries will want to charge fees since your parents are not citizens of those countries.
Any work they do for you has an associated cost and doesn't return any benefit to the country in question.
If the country has a reciprocity agreement with the USA it may be easier.. otherwise this could be tedious (at best) and virtually impossible (at worst).

I would imagine that the USCIS knows which countries cooperate and which don't.
I don't envy you trying to obtain these documents and the certified translations.

If your parents worked for the US Government, then perhaps the specific department of the US government may have some help available for ex-employees.

I think you mean you are sponsoring your parents for a green card not a citizenship ... right ?
