  • Applying for N-400

Hi, finally it’s been almost 3 years living as a gc holder and it’s time for me to apply for n-400, marriage based. I-751 is still pending and it’s been ‘your case has been received’ stage for almost a year...

What’s the documents generally needed for marriage based 3 year n-400? We have joint tax returns and couple other things but considering my USC wife’s credit is shot, we weren’t able to really get much under both our names (cars, apt lease all under my sole name). We got pics and etc but is it necessary for n-400?

Also, my sister who’s got a GC through marriage is considering divorce. Her citizenship app is pending and she’s waiting till she gets it approved. Any repercussion getting divorced maybe a month or so after getting neutralized?

    thank you!

Go to https://www.uscis.gov/n-400 and file online, the system will ask all questions and for the documents needed to upload.
Also there you can download the instructions.

I have read that divorce is not something that can get any repercussions as long as the original marriage was bonafide.
