  • Naturalization after reentry permit

I have been out of US for around 1.5 year with reentry permit and came back to US on Jan 7th 2016. After this date I am continuously in US with trips no longer than 6 months.
I am more than 2,5 years in US up to now. My question is , can I apply for naturalization just now or I need to wait to Jan 8th 2020 according to 4 years and 1 day rule. If they start processing from now it will take months anyway so I should be eligible after Jan 8th for sure.
Does anyone know if naturalization fee will be same next year???
    Thank you

I'm going to presume from the context you are not married to a US citizen. Yes, you must wait until Jan 8, 2020. Note that you do not get to avail yourself of the 90 day early filing you would have had otherwise.

Yes, last I heard there will be a substantial increase in the filing fee for 2020. 82%, up to $1170 from $640. The good news is they want to drop the $85 biometric fee. They're also eliminating the fee waivers that may have applied to you.

Thanks for reply. Fee waivers does not apply to me. I heard that new fee will not be from 01/01/2020 but month or two later because of procedures so I hope to pay $640 + $85.
