  • How to check oath status ?

    Hi There -

My wife and I had applied for Citizenship in bay area (east bay) in late Jan. We both had our fp and interviews done (interview happened in second week of Apr). Both of us cleared our respective interviews. While my wife was approved for oath, I was told that a decision would be sent by mail .. no idea why ?

Last week my wife received her oath letter, scheduled for last week of May but I havent. Is there a way to track my status and what is going on .. are they doing additional verification, etc ? The immigration tracker website is not useful and it is not up to date.

    Help appreciated.

    Thanks !

First of all, Don´t be scared.
I think you said all the true in your interview( I am sure :-)). did they give you n-652 and it said " a decision canot be made yet" or they passed your interview??. Usually they send you a letter in a couple of weeks from your interview if they need some documentation or you have been denied. Every case is different so you can´t compare yourself with your wife.

The oath letter sometimes takes a while. Usually no more than 2 months.
Well I am telling you what usually happen.
-First. You can contact Customer service and ask about your case. Maybe you can´t get anything.

    - Second: I think you should wait, because I think you are going to receive something soon. You can request a INFOPASS throught USCIS website. But wait to do this.
    Let me know what happen.
    Hope this helps

In my opinion you need to wait for another 1 month before inquiring (even via Infopass). I have seen many of them mentioning on this forum that it took almost 2-3months for them to receive the decision from INS (search for last year posts Oct-Nov timeframe, you will get all the details you need).
