  • Pls enlighten me re my status after fingerprinting

    Hello Everyone!

Just curious. I did my fingerprinting last May 5, 2010, and when i called the customer hotline for FBI they said Im cleared and it was sent to USCIS the following day.

Today i got a (yellow) letter from USCIS stating that along with this letter i need to bring on my interview my original state issued driver's license or state issued photo identification card.

After receiving this letter, whats my next action? am i receiving another notice of action from them? If so, hopefully this time it would be fo my interview date.

Thank you in advance for all ur help.

    Next Step

That's great that you received your yellow letter. Hopefully you should be receiving your Interview letter soon. I am also an applicant out of NY, I had my FP yesterday and hope to get my yellow letter soon.

I wish you the best - Keep us Posted!

Hi All - just curious, does everyone receive a yellow letter before the interview letter? My fingerprinting was on Apr 16th (sacramento) and no movement since then.. status online is the same.. but I know sacramento moves a little bit more slowly than other places.. just curious if everyone gets a yellow letter eventually..?

I got a yellow letter a couple of days after the fingerprinting - I think they're (ie the yellow letters) are triggered as a result of USCIS reviewing your application and needing additonal info and are completely independent of the fingerprint procedure. It took two months to the day from fingerprinting to getting an interview invitation - that's for Atlanta, but I would assume other offices are working on similar schedules. The website status changed from "RFE" to "interview scheduled" a couple of days before I got the letter, so keep checking in. It's frustrating, but c'est la vie....

What initial evidence did they ask for?

Your status will not change for a while. It will change to "Testing and Interviewing" once they send your package to the local USCIS office which will then schedule your interview.
