  • Changing state during process

    Hey folks,

I am applying for naturalization this June but I am planning to move out of the state in October. N-400 instructions say that I need to stay in the state I am applying at for at least 3 months before applying. So, this is not my case! I will apply in my current state (which I have lived in for years) but I will move later in the process. Do you think this could affect my application process? Any idea where I can find this documented on the USCIS website? I have been looking around but can't find something solid!

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, Check Case Processing Times in both state, https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
maybe it will be better to apply in new state after 3 month residency.
It is clear that transferring case increase processing time and cause more delay especially for back ground check in new state and also has risk of transferring problem.
