Hello all! I am going to be applying for a green card at the end of this year. When I fill out my N-400 application, I plan to take advantage of being able to change my first name to something entirely different. This will definitely save me the headache of having to publish a legal notice in the paper and the filing fee for changing my name in court.
However, I was wondering if anyone knew if Los Angeles even performs judicial oath ceremonies? I know that I'll need to attend a judicial naturalization rather than administrative one because administrative ceremonies don't perform name changes. I've heard that San Francisco and San Diego have banned name changes and only perform administrative ceremonies, so I was wondering what the case was for Los Angeles. Would anyone know where I can get this information?
Thank you!
